Materials, manufacturing routes and buying considerationsA sweatshirt is a fabric product first. Weight, handfeel and shrinkage decide whether it looks good after the first wash, and the same garment is bought by fashion brands, schools, clubs and companies.
We make crew neck, quarter zip and oversized fits, with rib, hem and cuff construction developed on the sample.
Rib needs to recover after stretching, so rib width, fibre content and stitching are agreed on the sample.
The two fabrics look similar on the outside and behave differently on the body.
Fleece is brushed on the inside for warmth. It suits colder markets and heavier garments, and gives a soft, cosy handfeel.
French terry has looped yarn inside and is lighter, softer and more breathable. It suits transitional weather and everyday wear.
Weights and shrinkage are confirmed on a washed sample so the final size matches your chart.

Each stage needs written approval before the next one starts. Sample charges and courier costs are quoted before work begins.
GSM describes fabric weight in grams per square metre. The same nominal fabric can finish at different weights depending on yarn count, knit or weave structure, dyeing and finishing. We publish typical ranges for guidance and confirm the actual finished weight for your approved quality on the sample.
