A varsity jacket is judged on its details: how the sleeve joins the body, how the rib trim sits and recovers, how the snaps close and how the chenille letters and patches are fixed. The body, sleeves and trim behave very differently, so each is sampled in the real material and the patch layout is approved before bulk.
